(Austin, TX) -- Michael Jackson's doctor is suing Texas to get his medical license back just days after getting out of prison for the death of the pop star. Attorneys for Dr. Conrad Murray say the state had no reason to completely revoke his license because he'd only agreed to a temporary suspension. His lawyers also say the decision is wrong because he still had appeals pending in California, which violates laws there. Murray was just released from prison following his 2011 conviction of involuntary manslaughter for Jackson's 2009 death. He plans to return to private practice, which includes a clinic serving low-income patients in Houston. The case could be heard next year.
