(San Antonio, TX) -- With early voting set to end Friday, the state is on pace to double the number of early ballots turned in the 2009 and 2011 statewide elections. Texas officials say just under 197-thousand ballots have been cast in the 15 largest counties through Wednesday. In 2009 nearly 104-thousand people cast ballots in the first nine days of early voting, while just over 100-thousand did so in 2011. Officials say there have been few problems with the voter I.D. requirements in place for this election.
