3 Dead After Tornado Rips Through Virginia Campground
(Cape Charles, VA) -- At least three people are dead after a tornado ripped through a campground on Virginia's Eastern Shore. The twister hit early this morning in Cape Charles and flipped over motor homes and toppled trees. Witnesses describe seeing golf ball-sized hail during the storm. The Virginia Department of Emergency Management says at least two dozen people have been injured.
The popular campground is located on Chesapeake Bay. Upwards of 13-hundred people were at the campground when the twister came through.
