(San Antonio, TX) -- Doctors in San Antonio, Texas are reportedly making a breakthrough in breast reconstruction after a mastectomy. PRMA Center for Advance Breast Reconstruction doctors say they've figured out a way to make the DIEP flap procedure more successful. KSAT-TV reports the doctors removed a superficial vein from the tissue in 800 patients and discovered the new breasts stay healthy 99-percent of the time. The DIEP flap procedure takes fat and skin from the stomach area and puts it into a woman's breasts.
