(Undated) -- A global study shows boys are more likely to be born premature than girls. The research team also found boys who are born at full term are more likely to develop medical complications or even die. Dr. Joy Lawn with the London School of Hygiene says male infants may be more at risk because girls develop faster in the womb. Some of the most common health problems for male newborns are jaundice and various types of infection. The study was published in the journal "Pediatric Research."
