(San Antonio, TX) -- University of Texas football coach Mack Brown is gearing up for the Alamo Bowl against Oregon, but isn't dismissing the rumors surrounding his status with the Longhorns.
Multiple reports this week had Brown ready to resign by week's end. The 62-year-old Brown says he will sit down with new athletic director Steve Patterson and discuss the future of the program. Brown has been at Texas for 16 seasons. The Longhorns went 8-and-4 during the regular season this year, including 7-and-2 in the Big 12. Brown is 158-and-47 with UT overall. Texas plays the Oregon Ducks in the Alamo Bowl December 30th at the Alamodome in San Antonio.
