(San Antonio, TX) -- The man who seriously burned his girlfriend in an attempt to kill himself will not go to jail, but will be under supervision for a long time. The jury in the case of Lee Griego sentenced him to ten years probation last night after deliberating for over three hours. Griego maintained he was not trying to injure Megan Baldonado when he ignited a gas soaked rag in a failed suicide attempt. Prosecutors had sought a 35 year prison sentence for Griego, pointing out that Baldonado suffered burns to 65 percent of her body.
