Military Dog Monument Unveiled

(San Antonio, TX) -- The nation's first ever monument to U.S. military service dogs is unveiled in San Antonio. The nine-foot tall bronze statue was unveiled yesterday at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland. The statue features the four major breeds used for military service since World War Two, a human handler and the inscription "Guardians of America's Freedom." Lackland is home to the U.S. training center for dogs that serve in the military.
