(Washington, DC) -- The National Cherry Blossom Festival is underway in Washington, DC, but there still aren't many blossoms yet. Many tourists have started coming to the area, only to find the buds haven't flowered around the Tidal Basin in their annual pink display. The National Park Service says they won't peak until April 8th. Forecasters are also predicting another blast of winter weather over the next couple of days and it's not yet known how that will affect the blooms.
