Mom Accused Of Tearing Son's Genitals Pleads Not Guilty

(San Antonio, TX) -- A San Antonio mother accused of tearing her son's genitals is pleading not guilty to assault charges. An attorney for Jennifer Vargas entered the plea for his client yesterday. Vargas was taken into custody last month for allegedly causing a large rip on boy's scrotum, then trying to repair it with alcohol and superglue. Vargas' husband, Army Sergeant Samuel Simpson, says the boy will recover. He's also in the process of divorcing Vargas.
