East Coast Storm Shutting Down Schools, Offices

(Undated) -- The week is starting off with schools and government offices shut down in and around the nation's capital.

That's meteorologist Rob Carolan. The huge winter storm that pounded the middle of the country over the weekend will keep local and federal government offices, including Congress, closed in Washington today. District of Columbia Public Schools have canceled classes ahead of a storm that will dump as much as nine inches on the DC area. Forecasters say New York and Boston won't get much snow, but freezing rain could make the morning commute a mess.
