Sheriff: Gunman Came To Colorado School Fully Armed

(Centennial, CO) -- The gunman in yesterday's school shooting in Colorado came to Arapahoe High School prepared for an extended shooting spree. Arapahoe County Sheriff Grayson Robinson said 18-year-old Karl Pierson entered the school armed with a shotgun, a machete and three explosive devices. He credited the quick response of the on-site security, including a sheriffs deputy for preventing any further injuries or deaths. Pierson shot and critically wounded 17-year-old Claire Davis before eventually killing himself. It's believed the motive for the shooting may be in retaliation for a conflict between Pierson and a faculty member over a disciplinary matter related to the school debate team.
