(Paris) -- France will soon be sending weapons to the Kurds in Iraq. The president of France said today the population of Iraqi Kurdistan is facing a "catastrophic situation" and that arms deliveries will be coordinated with government officials in Baghdad. The Kurds in northern Iraq are currently threatened by Sunni militants who have also surrounded refugees on a remote mountaintop. France is also sending a second shipment of humanitarian aid that's expected to arrive in the Kurdish region today.
