Harf Cites Evidence Of Russian Artillery Attacks On Ukrainian Military
Sunday, July 27
(Washington, DC) -- State Department spokesperson Marie Harf is citing growing evidence that Russian artillery is being fired across the border with eastern Ukraine to attack Ukrainian military targets.
In a State Department briefing, Harf cited U.S. intelligence sources. Tensions in the border region have heightened since last week's downing of a Malaysian airliner. Nearly 300 people were killed in the crash, which the U.S. blames on pro-Russian rebels in eastern Ukraine.
State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf says Russia is closely participating with Ukrainian separatists.
Harf says it's not just the U.S. talking about Russia's influence in Ukraine.
