Jay Leno "Tonight Show" Staff Laid Off
(Burbank, CA) -- Reality is setting in for Jay Leno's "Tonight Show" staff. TheWrap.com says NBCUniversal is laying off 164 employees in Burbank, California as the late night show makes its way back to New York where Jimmy Fallon will take over as "Tonight's" new host. The California Employment Development Department was apparently notified last month about NBCUniversal's plans to eliminate the "Tonight Show" positions in Burbank. A rep for NBCU says the company has encouraged the employees to look at jobs throughout the company and apply for them.

Jay Leno will exit "The Tonight Show" next Thursday, February 6th with final guest Billy Crystal, who was Leno's first guest when he took over the "Tonight Show" in 1992. Fallon will begin his "Tonight Show" run on February 17th with guests Will Smith and U2.
