Judge Sets Date For Mississippi Election Challenge Trial

(Laurel, MS) -- The challenge to the results of the Mississippi Senate runoff election will begin September 15th. That's the order filed yesterday by the presiding judge, Hollis McGehee. The trial seeks a legal ruling on whether incumbent Thad Cochran actually won the June 24th runoff for the U.S. Senate over Chris McDaniel. The challenger McDaniel claims voting irregularities should result in him being declared the winner.
