(San Luis Obispo, CA) -- A lawyer for former New Found Glory guitar player Steve Klein is downplaying reports about the lewd conduct charges facing his client. It was reported this week that Klein pled not guilty to a number of felony charges in a California courtroom in December, including lewd conduct with a minor and possession of child pornography. That was about the same time the band announced it was parting ways with the guitarist, without explanation. Klein's lawyer Debra White now says all of the charges were "derived solely from online consensual video chats" with female strangers he met on an adult website. He also emphasized that Klein is not accused of having any lewd actual physical conduct with any minor. White also says Klein believed the girls he was allegedly communicating with were of age. He's due to return to court in San Luis Obispo on March 20th.
