Lyft, Uber Still Illegal In San Antonio
(San Antonio, TX) -- Lyft and Uber are still not allowed to operate in San Antonio. Police Chief William McManus says officers will impound the vehicle of any Lyft or Uber driver caught operating without a permit. The City Council voted yesterday to create a task force to study whether the ridesharing companies can legally operate in San Antonio. Cab and limousine companies want Lyft and Uber to follow the same rules they do, including proper licensing, insurance, and permits.
