Missouri Governor Declares State Of Emergency, Announces Curfew

(Ferguson, MO) -- Missouri Governor Jay Nixon is declaring a state of emergency and putting in place a curfew in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson. Highway patrolmen will be enforcing the curfew from midnight until five in the morning, local time. The move comes after a night of looting and clashes between police and demonstrators angry over last weekend's shooting death of an unarmed black teen. One of the businesses looted overnight was the Ferguson Market. That's the convenience store 18-year-old Michael Brown allegedly robbed before his run-in with the police last Saturday.
