(Austin, TX) -- The U.S. Navy Admiral who planned the raid which killed Osama bin Laden is taking over the University of Texas System. Admiral William McRaven was unanimously approved as system chancellor by regents yesterday. He was named the sole finalist a few weeks ago. He'll be stepping down as head of U.S. Special Operations Command later this month. McRaven replaces Chancellor Francisco Cigarroa in January.
