(Bismarck, ND) -- North Dakota is appealing a federal judge's ruling that put a hold on a state law that would ban abortions after a fetal heartbeat is detected. Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem filed his appeal in the U.S. District Court yesterday. He did so at the request of many state lawmakers who are against the ruling. The ban passed through the North Dakota legislature last year and is one of the harshest abortion laws in the country.
