Nearly One-Thousand Emergency Calls To VSP

(Richmond, VA) -- Virginia State Police say they have received nearly one-thousand emergency calls since midnight due to the winter storm. They say officers have responded to more than 150 disabled vehicles and more than 300 accidents. In the Fairfax division, there have been 22 disabled vehicles and 151 crashes as of late morning. There are no reports of weather-related deaths and few, if any, with significant injuries. Governor Terry McAuliffe has declared a state of emergency in Virginia.
