Oscar Winner Maximilian Schell Dies At 83
(Vienna) -- Austrian actor Maximilian Schell is dead at 83. The Austria Press Agency reports he died overnight after a sudden illness. Schell is best known for his Academy Award winning performance as a German defense attorney in the 1961 film "Judgment at Nuremberg." He also took home a Golden Globe and New York Film Critics Circle award for the famous role. Schell was recognized in the U.S. for his work on both stage and screen.
