(San Antonio, TX) -- People in San Antonio are remembering Texas Independence Day. The Daughters of the Republic of Texas led a group to the Alamo yesterday to commemorate the 178 years since Texas declared its independence from Mexico. They also laid at wreath at the Alamo to honor the 189 Texians killed during the Battle of the Alamo four days later. Among the dead included William Travis, Jim Bowie and Davy Crockett.
