Stars Attend Met Gala, Michelle Obama Honors Anna Wintour
(New York, NY) -- Anna Wintour has made her mark on New York City. "Vogue's" editor-in-chief has been honored with the opening of the new Anna Wintour Costume Center at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The new 40-million-dollar wing of the museum, courtesy of the Costume Institute, was unveiled on Monday hours before the museum's famous stairs started filling up with famous faces for fashion's biggest night, the Met Gala. The theme of the night was centered on the Costume Center's upcoming inaugural exhibition dedicated to designer Charles James. Among the stars who showed up for the event were Oscar winner Lupita Nyong'o , Taylor Swift, Sarah Jessica Parker, Victoria Beckham, Bryan Cranston, Katie Couric, Neil Patrick Harris and Bradley Cooper.

While she did not attend the Met Gala, First Lady Michelle Obama was on hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony earlier in the day. Mrs. Obama honored Wintour with a few words, calling the fashion icon someone she has "such respect and admiration for" and said she was "proud to call [her] a friend."
