Texas Congressman Saves Choking Child On Airplane

(Alpine, TX) -- A mother is thanking Texas Congressman Pete Gallego for saving her choking child on an airplane. Gallego rescued the boy Friday evening when a chicken nugget got stuck in the boy's throat on a flight from Dallas to San Antonio. He tells the "Houston Chronicle" he put one hand on three-year-old's chest and the other on his back to get the nugget out. The boy did spit up on Gallego's suit, but he's happy the boy is okay. The mother, Paige Flippen from Helotes , tweeted Gallego saying she was thankful for his quick response.
