Texas "School Guardian Plan" Allows Guns At Board Meetings, Games
(Austin, TX) -- Rural school districts in Texas are not violating state law by allowing employees to carry weapons at school board meetings and games. State Attorney General Greg Abbott released an opinion Friday saying the "School Guardian Plan" is the exception if it involves districts which can't afford to hire security. He says the law isn't being broken "when a person is lawfully carrying a handgun pursuant to a school board's written regulations."
