Tyler The Creator Accused Of Starting Riot At SXSW

(Austin, TX) -- Hip-hop star Tyler The Creator is accused of causing concert chaos at the South By Southwest Festival. Police in Austin, Texas arrested the rapper Saturday, two days after he reportedly called on people outside of his Thursday night concert to push through the gates at the capacity-filled venue. According to TV station KXAN, police on the scene said the crowd began pushing past employees and making their way into the Scoot Inn on Tyler's call for action. At least one employee says he was punched in the face by someone in the crowd.
The rapper, born Tyler Gregory Okonma, is facing a misdemeanor charge for allegedly starting a riot. He performed his South by Southwest set a day after it was postponed due to tragic event involving an alleged drunk driver who mowed down a crowd outside a festival venue. Two people were killed, several others were injured.
