Vacant Building Owners Required To Keep Up On Maintenance
(San Antonio, TX) -- The city of San Antonio now requires owners of vacant buildings to maintain their properties or face eviction. The ordinance effective on January 1st requires them to pay a 250-dollar registration fee and 750-dollars for all other types of buildings. Fines can be up to 500 dollars per-day. Officials say it's an effort to fill vacant buildings downtown.
