Virginia Same-Sex Marriage Ban Struck Down

(Richmond, VA) -- A federal three-judge panel in Richmond is striking down Virginia's same-sex marriage ban. The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals judges today decided by a 2-1 margin to uphold Judge Arenda Wright Allen's February ruling on the issue. Allen said that the 2006 amendment to the state constitution violates the 14th Amendment's equal protection clause.
