White House: Obama-Boehner Meeting Was Good & Constructive

(Washington, DC) -- White House spokesman Jay Carney says a private meeting between President Obama and Republican House Speaker John Boehner was good, constructive and useful.
Carney said issues that were covered in the meeting included trade, the economy and budgets. The White House is expected to formally submit the President's annual budget blueprint to Congress next week. The White House session was the first face-to-face meeting between Obama and Boehner since late 2012. Brushing by reporters at the Capitol after the meeting, Speaker Boehner called it a nice meeting.
